Technical Advisory Group - "Members Helping Members" Network

The recently adopted Strategic Plan for the Colorado State Fire Chiefs’ Association (CSFCA) calls for the development of a Technical Advisory Group, or a "Members Helping Members" network. The purpose of this network is to provide subject matter experts that can be called upon when their colleagues are in need of assistance.  It is also intended to provide a pool of “seasoned” fire chiefs willing to serve as mentors for new fire chiefs.

The individuals identified in this directory are those that responded to the survey conducted from 12/18/2006 – 2/6/2007, and answered affirmatively to the question: “Are you willing to be called upon when your technical expertise and/or experience is needed by another fire chief in the state?”  The areas of expertise listed were self-identified by the individual.

The first part of this directory lists individuals and their area(s) of expertise.  The second part lists individuals by area of expertise.

The CSFCA Board of Directors extends its sincere appreciation to those members who have volunteered to extend their hand to assist a colleague in need.

If you have any corrections, additions, or deletions to the “Members Helping Members” Directory, please complete the survey at: www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=762373780450.

Questions should be directed to the CSFCA Executive Director, Paul L. Cooke.

SCBA Needed

The Byers Volunteer Fire Department (Arapahoe County) is in need of SCBA.  They currently run with three different brands (MSA, Scott, and Survivair), much of which is antiquated and does not meet NFPA or OSHA standards for breathing apparatus. They would also like to standardize to Scott, as this is what is used in the region.  They have attempted to obtain an Assistance to Firefighters Grant to replace their SCBA, but their application was rejected.

If you have any SCBA to donate, please contact Scott Walling of the Byers Volunteer Fire Department at 303-822-5246 or oscooty33@yahoo.com.

Thank You

Indian Hills Fire/Rescue would like to express its appreciation to Chief Phillip Daniels and the Rye Fire Protection District for its donation of a 12 lead cardiac monitor/AED to Indian Hills Fire/Rescue.  Thanks also to the CSFCA for allowing us to post our needs on the website – it REALLY works!

D. J. Himstedt, Chief
