Fire Code Adoption in Colorado - 2007

Description: The Colorado State Fire Chiefs’ Association (CSFCA) conducted a survey of Colorado fire departments from 12/18/2006 – 2/6/2007. Among other things, this survey was designed to collect information on the current status of fire code, urban wildland interface code, and wildland fire mitigation plan adoption in the state. This report presents the compiled results of the survey.

Description: In the aftermath of the April 15, 2008 Ordway/Crowley County fire there has been an outpouring of support from the Colorado fire service to help the volunteer fire departments of Crowley County in their recovery efforts. This study by the National Fire Protection Research Foundation provides a national perspective on the cost of home fire sprinklers by developing data on installation costs and cost savings for ten communities distributed throughout the United States. The study also explores the range of insurance premium discounts which are available to home owners with sprinkler systems in their houses.
