Memory of a Fallen Firefighter
A memorial wreath
was placed on Highway 115 at the final resting
place of Air Tanker CO-1, in memory of a fellow
firefighter and pilot who gave his life on April
15, 2008, in the line of duty. We would like to
honor the memory of this firefighting hero for
his actions to protect Fort Carson and El Paso
County from wildfire. Please take a moment of
silence to view this hallowed place and to say
thank-you for his ultimate sacrifice.
