Background

The recently adopted Strategic Plan calls for the creation of a Volunteer Chief Officers' Section of the CSFCA, which would focus on addressing the unique needs of Chief Officers of volunteer fire and emergency services organizations.

A committee was established for the purpose of exploring the concept, creating the framework for the new section and developing a strategy for its implementation.  The first meeting of the committee was held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 in Alamosa.  This meeting resulted in the development of a proposed mission statement and goals, conceptual organizational structure, and implementation strategy.  All of which is subject to the approval of the CSFCA Board of Directors and the charter members of the new section.
