Mission

 

The mission of the Wildland Fire Section is to bring together CSFCA members involved in wildland fire management to provide leadership, expertise and direction on wildland fire issues, in order to reduce the injuries, deaths, property loss and the fiscal impacts of wildland fires and to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire in Colorado.


Objectives

 

The Wildland Fire Section is established to serve the interests of the CSFCA in wildland fire management by:

 

A)   bringing together for mutual professional and technical benefit, those members involved in wildland fire management and related activities;

B)   fostering cooperation among all parties in Colorado with an interest or stake in wildland fire management to optimize firefighting efficiency and public safety by encouraging the exchange of information, techniques, and experiences;

C)   conducting or sponsoring meetings, workshops, seminars, and such other forums as may be appropriate for the exchange of information and the encouragement of professional development among those responsible for planning, implementing and operating wildland fire management and other related activities;

D)   promoting safety, training, and research in the art and science of preventing wildfires, of prescribed fire, and wildland firefighting; and

E)   making recommendations on public policy to reduce the injuries, deaths and property loss and the fiscal impacts of wildland fires and to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire in Colorado.
